Sony EuropeがiTunes等に対応したホームサーバを発表

 Sony Europeが4月12日に、ちょっと変わったネットワーク対応のオーディオ機器「NAS-CZ1」を発表している。いわゆるホームサーバで、モノ自体は以前から公開されていて、PC Watchあたりでもあっさりした感じで紹介されているのだけど、今回の公式発表の注目すべき点は以下の部分:
So that users can make the most out of their existing musiclibrary, the NAS-CZ1 allows automatic connection to a wide range of music jukebox software (including Musicmatch, Windows MediaPlayer, iTunes, and SonicStage) via the supplied software M-crew Server.
 これだけじゃ、一体どういう仕組みなのか全く判らないけれど、どうやらiTunesなどを専用ソフトの「M-crew Server」上からまとめてシームレスにコントロールできるらしい。

 ついでに、「dynamic play list generation allowing users to listen to their most frequently, recently, new and never played tracks」という便利なプレイリスト機能も搭載。

 ヨーロッパでの発売は7月とあるけど、上記したPC Watchの記事によれば、このマシンを日本で売る予定はないらしい。Vaioにこの機能をまるまる載せてしまえば人気出そうに思うんだけどね。
